I really love what Toontrack do…. Their ‘EZ trio’ gets very regular use in my own music production work and, while they are all exceptional when just used as virtual instrument sound sources, they offer a lot more than that…. They can serve as virtual ‘session musicians’ and can take a pretty good stab at being your songwriting assistants also…..
Still, the sounds that lie at the heart of this are inspiring in their own right…. and the latest EZkeys 2 expansion – Transistor Organ EKX – is a great example of that. The sounds are cool, quirky, and instantly take you back to pop and film soundtracks from the 60s era. It’s a totally different vibe to the (also excellent) Session Organ EKX but just as brilliant.
