For Artist and Pro users updating to Cubase 15, one of the most intriguing additions was the integration of Celemony’s Tonalic into the Cubase feature set. Tonalic is an impressive ‘virtual session musician’ concept in it’s own right (you can read a full review in SOS here) but this update tightly sits the Tonalic engine into Cubase in a rather impressive way.
Of course, the full version of Tonalic is a subscription-based product (although, for busy working songwriters, it could pay for itself in no time) and, while you get to see the core functionality within this new Cubase-friendly version, it is Tonalic ‘Elements’ and the key constraint is that you getting a compact collection of acoustic and electric guitar session performances rather than the extensive range of options (supplied by an impressive roster of A-list session musicians) available in full version.
However, what is included does provide a rather neat toolkit for drafting guitar parts to support your songwriting process….. and that’s exactly what’s explored in this latest SOS Cubase workshop. You can read the the full workshop/tutorial article in Sound On Sound here….
