Steinberg have kept up a regular flow of updates to Cubase 15 since it was first released. All the usual code tidying up aside, these have also added some very cool additional features to the software. In v.15.0.20, this included some new options for how the functionality of Folder Tracks and Group Channels can be integrated. Essentially, a Folder Track can now also act as a Group Channel, streamlining how they are handled in terms of both display options within the Project window and MixConsole and in terms of audio routing.
The changes apply to Elements, Artist and Pro so all v.15 users get the benefit of this new development. There’s one minor catch in terms of the workflow for mix automation with a hardware controller (although I suspect Steinberg wil address this at some stage)…. but otherwise it’s a win all around.
