I kind of like the concept with iZotope’s Catalyst plugin series. They are a no-fuss, accessibly priced, but very functional set of virtual effects but, with an interesting technical twist or two. In this case, Cascadia is what iZotope describe as a ‘ducked tape delay’…. with the ‘ducked’ bit meaning that, with pretty much zero effort on behalf of the user, the delay repeats can be subjected to a little spectral analysis to ‘duck’ frequencies within the repeats that might clash with the dry signal when that signal is also present. It solves a potential ‘mud in the mix’ problem before it even becomes an issue…. Easy to use and works very well. Read the full review here….
