Blimey! Did this plugin cause a bit of an online storm within the guitar-playing YouTube/blogosphere community? Obviously, not everyone is a fan of John Mayer and his music, but it’s hard to think of too many still active artists with such an impressive catalogue of songs/albums and whose guitar playing is so highly regarded by both his peers and his fans.
Anyway, whether you are a fan or not, to have access to a virtual recreation of his (very very very expensive) amp and effects rig is quite a big deal…. and Neural DSP have done an amazing job with how they have executed the project. Indeed, it’s so good, that there is footage of John Mayer online in his studio and trying and failing to tell the difference between his actual rig and the plugin….
It’s brilliant for fans obviously, but it goes well beyond that and provides a full suite of guitar tones from super-clean through to classic rock and blues. I absolutely love it…. but check out the full SOS review here to find out more….
