Cubase 14: Using DAWproject To Exchange Projects Between Cubase & Cubasis

Those of you here with a long memory and a love of mobile music making might well remember that I used to run the Music App Blog website. As a long-standing Cubase user, I was delighted when Steinberg took the plunge with an iPad version of their flagship DAW in Cubasis. Thankfully, they have maintained a commitment to the platform and Cubasis is now a very sophisticated recording and mixing environment.

The most recent Cubasis update (v.3.7.5) marks a nice step forward in using the desktop and mobile environments together a more attractive proposition. By adding DAWProject support. it is now easier to move projects between the two setting. No, it’s not perfect (yet) but it’s great to see progress on this front. Working on a tablet (for example, while travelling) is now a great experience… and even more practical as part of a broader workflow if it is easy to transition those ideas onto a desktop system if that’s where you need to be to access your full suite of mixing and mastering tools….

Fingers crossed Steinberg keep this feature moving forwards but, for an introduction to what it can do right now, read the workshop piece in SOS here….
