Now, your mileage may vary, but my own technical knowledge of music theory probably puts me in the ‘dangerous’ category (that is, I’m never quite sure which, if many, music ‘rules’ I’m breaking). I’m also a guitar player rather than a keyboard player so generating MIDI parts and chord sequences can sometimes be a challenge.
Thankfully, tools such as Scaler 3 can give me some assistance. This latest iteration of the software brings some very effective workflow streamlining as well as a host of new features. Yes, it’s a deep bit of software but, for developing song or compositional ideas, it is a treasure trove of tools to help you along the way and break out of any creative limitations you might face. It’s also great value for money….
