I’m sure it’s not just me, but there have been a whole bunch of modern metal guitar virtual instruments released over the last couple of years and a few notable options within just the last few months. These include Steinberg’s Artefakt and Keep-Forest’s Appex. However, NI are obviously keen to put their own spin on the concept, hence the latest release into the Session Guitarist series; Electric Storm.
The Session Guitar series is an interesting concept as the engine’s design makes it incredibly simple to create performances based upon your MIDI chord input, although you also get a conventional playable virtual instrument (albeit with fairly modest articulation options) alongside the pattern/style based options.
