UJAM is an interesting company. Featuring key members of the team that produced the original Virtual Guitarist instrument for Steinberg, and some high-profile collaborators (I guess Hans Zimmer counts on this front!), they now have a pretty extensive catalogue of virtual instruments and effects. The design ethos, however, is very much on keeping things streamlined for the user….. macro sets of controls, performance engines, and an intuitive workflow…. all while producing some great sounds.
That design stance is in full evidence with Virtual Pianist SCORE. This title in the Virtual Pianist series is very much aimed at media composers but, it could do a turn in some other musical styles also. If you like the idea of a virtual piano-playing session musician, then read the review….. and then download the free trial version from UJAM’s website to explore yourself…..
