Steinberg Cubasis 3.6

Some readers here with long memories might recall that I have a keen interest in mobile music making technology using iPad and iPhone devices (I ran a website/blog covering iOS music making for a number of years). While iOS now offers a number of really good DAW options (including a mobile version of Logic), as a Cubase user on the desktop, Steinberg’s Cubasis has always been my first choice on iOS…..

Cubasis is a fantastic example of just how powerful a iPad-based recording system can be. Yes, there are cons as well as pros to the format, the the good stuff far outweighs the downsides (which mostly revolve around situations when you need to connect multiple items of external hardware to the system; it’s less straightforward than on a desktop computer with multiple USB ports, but there are perfectly acceptable solutions).

Anyway, Steinberg have maintained a very regular update cycle with Cubasis and it continues to evolve. The feature set expands with each release and you can easily use this platform for some serious recording tasks with, of course, the obvious advantage that you can take the system with you so easily to make music on the move….. So, what have Steinberg done with the latest release? Read the SOS review here to find out…..
