In the absence of a magic money tree, my studio’s amp collection has so far had to make do without a Morgan amp. However, thanks to the couple of occasions I’ve had the chance to play through one, I’ve got a long-standing love affair with the sound. Add it to my GAS wishlist…..
All of which means I was more than happy to take a look at Neural DSP’s Morgan Amp Suite plugin. And, while it perhaps doesn’t have the genuine cool factor of standing in front of the real hardware as it clears your ears out, for getting those kinds of sounds into your own recordings in a convenient (and budget-friendly) fashion, it’s a remarkably good alternative. Can a plugin actually be ’boutique’? I don’t know…. but you can check out my SOS review here if you want to explore…..
