There has been quite a lot of online discussion about the recent corporate-level activity over at Native Instruments and the arrival of both iZotope and Plugin Alliance within the NI fold. I’ve no idea what the long-term pros and cons of these developments might be but, aside from noting that this is the kind of thing that happens in all avenues of the business world (and that music technology is not immune to the process), for me personally, it would be a shame if this was a distraction from NI’s recent update to one of the most important pieces of music software that sits in my own studio; NI’s Kontakt 8.
Pretty much every project I create includes sounds supplied by a Kontakt-based virtual instrument library. Boardroom maneuvers aside, is Kontakt 8 great? Well, there are certainly some cool new features to be found…. and you can check out what particularly appealed by reading the full review here….
