Oh my, this one was fun. It’s difficult not to be impressed by EastWest’s virtual instrument line-up and the current iteration of their front-end – Opus – is now a very polished and powerful way to access the current crop of libraries. I’m a fan of the Hollywood Orchestra package and this one – Fantasy Orchestra – is a great complement to that library but targeted at a more niche musical context. It’s packed with some cool and quirky instrument choices and includes support for the Orchestrator system (which, if you have not experienced, is well worth exploring; style-based orchestral performances that adapt to the chords you play).
Anyway, if the music you compose sometimes needs to fall into the fantasy genre, this is a fabulous resource full of high quality sounds. Read the full review here…..
